Las Migas takes place on the rooftop of a skyscraper in Chicago. The play opens with two characters-a professor and engineer-having been stuck on the roof for six days. Both had gone up to the roof after a red moon had disrupted life in the city. Once there they realized the door to exit the roof was locked from the inside. Somehow, they receive daily breadcrumbs that sustain them. As they tell their stories, two other characters-a domestic worker and a window washer-join them unexpectedly and are also stuck with them. The play continues to explore the odd and absurd situation in which they find themselves and the red moon that continues to disrupt regular routines. The last visitors are a pair of crows. On the seventh morning they discover the door open, and each decides to return to their normal routine except for one character.
