This hybrid experience is a theatrically filmed screening with live dance and drumming performances. Brujaja is a play about an accidental witch, Ifé, who finds that Brujería holds much more responsibility and power than she realized. After living above her mother's botánica her whole life, Ife finally finds her purpose in the larger fight against oppression and wellness. After generations of colonization of African traditions, how does brujería fit into the resistance? Brujaja sits in conversations around healing, identity, walking in your destiny, and tapping into ancestral power. The power to heal is within.
