Sa’as Tun is a theater group founded in 2005, originating from Mérida, Yucatán. Concepción León Mora, its creator, playwright, and director, leads the company with the aim of creating a unique and shared language that speaks to the mysticism and memory of the indigenous Mayans of Yucatán. Starting in 2010, she initiated a series of projects that emerged from creative processes with small communities. This led to creative partnerships with the Centro de Readaptación Social de Mérida and the Yalcobá community, driven by the need to maintain a high-quality theatrical project with universal presence. The natural growth of the company and constant invitations to national and international festivals have attracted members from Mexico City, thus expanding the group’s scope. Today, the group collaborates with various companies and has diversified its artistic languages and aesthetic needs.
